A Night at Port

Waters Edge is sponsoring a night at PORT, an organization that houses and feeds the homeless in Hampton Roads. That means that WEC has committed to provide volunteers and meals for one evening and the following morning. There are two ways that you or your group members can help out. You can either provide a meal or new clothing.

Providing a Meal

We need 10 people to make Taco Soup in a lined 6 quart slow cooker. We will provide the recipe. It can be dropped off at the Mosaic Campus where All Generations Church meets at 28 Harpersville Rd in Newport News between 4:00 - 5:30 PM on Tuesday, February 12. Please label your crockpot* with your name, phone number and email address. We’ll bring your crockpot to our Central Office, located at 100 Newsome Dr, Suite E in Yorktown where you can pickup on either Friday, February 15 or Monday, February 18.

 Provide Clothing

We need new adult clothing, especially larger sizes. We need both men's, women's, and some children's clothing, however PORT mostly sees men. Sweats are perfect and socks are always needed! Nothing with a hood please. You can drop off the clothing at our Central office located at 100 Newsome Dr, Suite E, Yorktown anytime before Tuesday, February 5.

If you are interested in helping with either of these, or have any questions, please contact Teanna at teanna@watersedgechurch.net

*If you have a crockpot to lend, but are unable to cook, that would be helpful too as additional crockpots will be needed for breakfast.
