We are so excited to partner with you in helping your kid know, love, and serve Jesus. We believe by providing this devotional for you to do with your kid, they will have a greater understanding of salvation and baptism. They will have an opportunity to ask and answer questions and explore additional scripture verses. After completing this devotional with them, it should help you determine if your kid is ready to be baptized.

So, for the next 5 days, we would love for you to jump into a devotional WITH your kid. What does your kid need? Just their Live it out bracelet they made at the Big Splash. That’s it!   • • When did you decide to become a part of God’s family?

    They may have a specific memory of when they understood that they need Jesus in their life. It may have been at church, at home, or even when they were alone.

    •What does it mean to be baptized?

    It means that I am part of God’s family and I want to show the world what Jesus did for me.

    •Why do you want to be baptized?

    Because I want to be part of God’s family and I want to shine for Jesus.

  • That is totally okay! Your kid does not have to be baptized at the very next baptism, you can register them for any upcoming baptism when you feel they understand salvation.

  • No, once your kid has attended The Big Splash they can get baptized at a later baptism without attending again. However, you are more than welcome to bring them again if you feel like it would help them understand salvation better.

  • Absolutely they do! They can light up their light bulb at the end of service on the Sunday they are baptized, just go out with them when others go out to light up their bulbs.

  • Yes! The Bible teaches that baptism is an outward symbol displaying a person's inner decision to follow Jesus. It is our hope and prayer that your kids understand salvation and decide to follow Jesus for themselves and choose to be baptized.Kid Dedication was an opportunity for you as the parent to commit to nurture your kid’s spiritual development.

  • God has made each kid unique and special. It is really about when they understand salvation and decide to follow Jesus.

How do I help my kid know, love, and serve Jesus?

• Attend church regularly. Pick a consistent time and location to help your kid build a relationship with their leaders and other kids their age.

• Stay connected to Waters Edge Kids on Facebook and Instagram for conversation prompts and online resources

• Pray for your kids

• Volunteer on a team and join a Group - help your kids see you active in the local Church
